Trivium Packaging Joins Alupro As Funding Partner

European metal packaging firm Trivium Packaging announced this week that it has teamed up with aluminium packaging recycling organization Alupro to assist in funding the UK Aerosol Recycling Initiative.

Trivium’s funding will pay for several of Alupro’s activities through 2024, with feasibility studies, data collection, pilot programs, and engagement initiatives among them. Alupro plans to continue its activities until aluminium recycling in the UK reaches goals set for 2030.

Andrew Davies, R&D specialist prototyping at Trivium Packaging, said in a press release that the Initiative is vital to increasing the nation’s aluminium recycling rate.

“We’re proud to have committed to supporting the UK Aerosol Recycling Initiative. The programme is crucial in driving further improvements in recycling and addressing consumer knowledge and the role of government and industry bodies.”

Tom Giddings, executive director at Alupro, said that his organization is glad to have Trivium on board.

“We’re really pleased to have the backing of Trivium Packaging. The partnership will help drive the change in the aluminium packaging industry, working towards a more sustainable future and allowing us to take an important step towards the industry goal of exceeding a 50% aerosol recycling rate by 2030.”

“The project is just getting underway; we have big plans for the future and we’re excited to be working alongside our partners to aim to maximise the recycling rate of aluminium,” he concluded.
