Russia’s aluminium giant UC Rusal completed a ₽7 billion (US$71 million) project to improve social infrastructure facilities in the Krasnoyarsk Region near its Boguchansk aluminium smelter this week.
The project in the village of Tayozhny included the building of a kindergarten, a school, and a clinic. The project was part of a broader agreement with Krasnoyarsk Region, where Rusal built 13 residential buildings with almost 800 apartments, water purification facilities, a pair of kindergartens and another school both with swimming pool facilities, and a modern clinic.
Alexander Uss, Head of Krasnoyarsk Region said on a visit to the area on 23 March that the new facilities are a boon to the region.
“We are witnessing excellent results of the social development of Tayozhny and the entire Boguchansk district. Many large companies are present in our region, and our mutual collaboration is only possible based on mandatory participation in the social development of the region, for the benefit and well-being of its inhabitants. RUSAL demonstrated great results with this approach. We will further develop the village with communal and transport infrastructure.”
“Tayozhny has changed drastically with the construction of the Boguchansk aluminium smelter,” Evgenii Nikitin, General Director of RUSAL. “We see our goal both in the development of production and in raising the standard of living in our cities. Quality medical care is an integral part of modern infrastructure, which should be available not only in large cities. We helped with the construction of all necessary facilities on the initial stages of the construction of the Boguchansk aluminium smelter.”
