Oman Opens Sultanate’s First-Ever Aluminium Composite Panel Plant

Saturday saw the inauguration of Oman’s first-ever aluminium composite panel (ACP), located in Northeast Oman.

The plant, which is located in the Misfah Industrial Area, represents Oman’s leading building material firm Mohammed Riaz and Partners group’s most recent foray into the sustainable building materials market.

Faiz Mohammed Riaz, managing director, Mohammed Riaz and Partners, expressed pride in his firm’s new plant, and highlighted the advantages the aluminium panels the plant will soon produce.

“We are extremely happy to have the first-ever aluminium panel factory in the sultanate. Our panels called Alu-Panel are not only light weight and strong but also very effective in several adverse situations. They are cost effective, easy to install and durable. Aluminium panels are used like claddings in buildings and have proven very effective in buildings around the world. They require very little investment and maintenance. They are heat, sound and fire resistant.”

“These panels are also called sandwich panels because it is two aluminium sheets on either side bonded together in a non-aluminium core,” explained Alu-Panel’s product specialist Tenzin Tsarong.

Sayyid Muhana bin Asaad al Said was the top Omani official present. Also in attendance was Sayyid Fahad bin Diyab al Said, and Sayyid Azaan bin Kais al Said.
