C M Downton Inks Logistics Contract with Sapa Profiles UK

South West England logistics company C M Downton Ltd announced this week that it has agreed to terms with aluminium extrusion firm Sapa Profiles UK. The new contract is a three-year extension of an existing agreement between the two firms. Downton estimates the agreement will earn them approximately US$5.8 million per year.

According to Downton, the extension was secured after a competitive tender process. The extension will mean an addition of new services provided by Downton to Sapa Profiles. In addition to handling distribution from Sapa Profiles UK’s four main plants and operating the significant inter-company transfer system and shunting processes, Downton will increase the operational support team dedicated to the account.
